The Early Days in A Glance

TRUTH.  I would ride the bus to Liverpool Mall, take a taxi to Costco and then walk to my flower suppliers because I didn't have the language to explain directly where I wanted to go. I would then take a taxi home,. Then take a taxi to the wedding and walk all the way home with all my boxes and buckets. 

TRUTH.  It was for a celebrity that had been on both the Bachelor and the Bachelorette back in the day. 

LIE!  Never in a gazillion years was it on my radar. We were down in Sayulita visiting and saw an ad in the El Sayulero about a flower shop for sale.  I thought to myself "I think I can do that", risked everything, bought it, took a year to prep, then made the leap. Bonus fact, I don't even love flowers as much as I love creating ideas with my hands. That's the obsession. 

LIE!  I made my own bouquet but it had 2 lilies, some golden rod, and a peacock feather.  I couldn't have cared less what it looked like.  If I was to do it all over again I wouldn't change the story of how I got the flowers the day before with my Dad in Bucerias, but I would definitely change the style of the bouquet.

TRUTH.  I love lilies.  My first tattoo was a lily, my dog is named Lily. It's my favourite girl's name and I adore the scent of the bloom.  The funny thing is I never use them in my work.  

TRUTH.  I have a current obsession with my Flower Head project and this new series "Head in the Flowers".   I want to make a coffee table art book.

LIE!  I have taken several individual courses, and one day dream of studying in Madrid.  But everything I have learned has been through exploration, self study, and courses by individual teachers I admire. I'm here to say to not wait to go for your dreams. If you wait, someone else may step in do it instead. 

TRUTH!  It's in the early stages but I have a big idea with plans to launch in 2027 

TRUTH! I custom painted 100 sheets of poster board using a comb to get a textured look, then created giant blooming peonies to "grow" from the snow.  See the photos above.
